Electrical
An after-hours phone desk for electricians
Electrical calls have a way of coming in when you can't answer: a breaker that keeps tripping during dinner, half the house dark on a Sunday, a homeowner who smells something burning near an outlet. Then there are the calls that aren't urgent at all but still need someone: a panel upgrade, an EV charger, a quote for a remodel. First Deploy builds an AI phone desk that answers all of them in your shop's name and sends you the details right away.
Two kinds of callers, one desk
Electricians get a wider mix of calls than most trades. Some are real safety problems. Many are planned work: a homeowner adding a circuit, a contractor lining up a rough-in, someone asking about generator hookups. Both kinds get lost when they hit voicemail.
Your desk asks the questions you'd ask:
- Name and a callback number, read back to confirm
- The service address
- What's happening: a breaker that won't reset, lights flickering, part of the house without power, an outlet or switch that's hot, or the project they want quoted
- How soon they need you
Those details reach you right away, so the safety calls stand out and the project requests are waiting when you sit down to plan your week.
Safety calls come first
Electrical problems can be dangerous, and you know where the line is. In your written plan you decide what counts as urgent, such as a burning smell, sparking, a hot panel or water near electrical equipment, and what the desk tells that caller to do first. The desk gives only the safety step you approve, marks the call urgent and sends it to you right away. It won't improvise electrical advice.
You also decide what isn't urgent. A single dead outlet at 10 p.m. may be a next-day call for your shop. That goes in the plan too.
No quotes, no promises it shouldn't make
People ask what a panel upgrade costs or whether you can come out tonight. By default your desk doesn't quote prices, promise arrival times, offer discounts or give out your cell number. It says what you tell it to say and nothing more.
Every call opens with a recording notice, and if a caller asks whether they're talking to a person, the desk is set up to say it's an automated assistant for your shop.
Built for the work you actually do
Some electricians are residential service only. Some do commercial, new construction, generators or EV chargers, and some don't take certain jobs at all. Your desk is written around your work, your hours and your service area, so callers get a straight answer about whether you're the right shop.
You keep your existing number. Forward your line after hours, or when you don't pick up. Setup is remote and works for electrical contractors anywhere in the US.
Tested, then tuned
Before go-live we run practice calls against hard callers: a worried homeowner describing a smell they can't place, a contractor in a hurry, an angry caller, robocalls. We fix what breaks before your customers hear it. After go-live, the $100 a month covers tuning, and when you want a change you call the person who built it, not a ticket queue.
How it works
- Hear it. Call (320) 335-6186. Describe a breaker that won't reset and ask what it costs.
- Write the plan. Greeting, questions, emergency rules, where details go, go-live date. $250 starts the work.
- Build and test. Built remotely, then put through practice calls until it handles calls the way you would.
- Go live and tune. Forward your line. Balance due at completion, then $100/mo from go-live.
Price
$500 one-time setup, $250 to start and the balance at completion, or pay in full. $100/mo from go-live, invoiced monthly, cancel the monthly any time. No per-minute meter.
Electrical questions
What does First Deploy's AI phone desk do for electricians?
It answers your electrical shop's calls after hours, or when you don't pick up, in your shop's name. It collects the caller's name, callback number, service address, the problem or project and how soon they need you, then sends you the details right away.
How does the desk handle a burning smell or sparking outlet call?
You write the emergency rules in your plan. On a matching call, the desk gives only the safety step you approved, marks the call urgent and sends it to you right away. It does not improvise electrical advice.
Can the desk take requests for panel upgrades or EV charger installs?
Yes. Planned-work callers get the same intake: name, callback number, address and what they want done. The details are sent to you right away so you can follow up and quote it yourself.
Will the AI quote prices for electrical work?
Not by default. The desk does not quote prices, promise arrival times, offer discounts or give out your cell number unless your script tells it to.
How much does First Deploy cost for an electrical contractor?
$500 one-time setup, with $250 to start and the balance at completion, then $100 a month from go-live, invoiced monthly. You can cancel the monthly any time.
Do I need a new number?
No. You keep your existing number and forward it to the desk after hours or when you don't pick up.
