First Deploy vs Goodcall

Checked October 4, 2026. Prices are from Goodcall’s pricing page. How it answers, the 14-day trial, and “no long-term contract” are from Goodcall’s June 26, 2026 page, which repeats the same three prices. An older Goodcall post shows lower annual prices. This page uses the pricing page. A table on the June 26 page also shows $86 a month, which does not match the $79 and $66 plan cards, so $86 is not used.

Both are AI on the phone. First Deploy is a done-for-you after-hours desk: $1,750 setup, then $250 a month. Goodcall is a per-agent plan you configure, with unlimited minutes.

Side by side

First DeployGoodcall
Who it’s for Trade shops — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and the other trades named on our home page — that want one after-hours leak handled. Goodcall’s June 26 page names service businesses, including restaurant, salon, and healthcare, plus multi-location operations. The pricing page says “businesses of all sizes.”
How it answers An AI voice line that takes details, books the job, and sends the follow-up. An AI voice agent that answers inbound calls, captures leads, books appointments, and handles FAQs, 24/7. The same page says complex calls can be routed to human agents.
Pricing model $1,750 once, then $250/month per company. No per-minute and no per-call line. Per agent, per month, with unlimited minutes and tokens. Usage above the plan is counted as unique customers, at $0.50 after the allowance on Starter and Growth.
Setup $1,750. Half ($875) to start. One leak goes live this week on a written plan. Their June 26 page says no-code setup that “goes live in minutes.” The pricing FAQ says each agent gets a Goodcall number, or you forward your existing number when you don’t answer.
Contract Monthly from go-live. Cancel any time; when the month is off, the line goes dark. See pricing. The pricing page shows monthly prices and an annual view labeled 15% off. The June 26 page says “14-day free trial, no long-term contract required.”

How Goodcall answers

On the pricing FAQ, skills are how the agent answers, and flows collect lead details or branch on the caller’s answer. Team members can open the dashboard. Directory contacts can receive a transfer or a message, and they cannot edit the agent. A hang-up with no speech, a robocall, or a blocked number does not count as a unique customer. Ten calls from the same number in a month count once. The FAQ says they do not charge for call count, minutes, or tokens.

Each agent gets a Goodcall number, or you conditionally forward the number you already publish so Goodcall answers when you do not. CRM connections go through Zapier. More than one location can be more than one agent. The FAQ says there is no cap on agents, and that more than 10 is a conversation with their team.

Pricing model, from their pricing page

Monthly prices, and the annual prices shown beside them on the 15% off view:

  • Starter, $79 a month per agent ($66 on the annual view). Unlimited minutes and tokens. 1 logic flow, 3 team members, 3 directory contacts, 7 days of call and customer details, 100 unique customers, then $0.50 per customer.
  • Growth, $129 a month per agent ($108 on the annual view). 3 logic flows, 9 team members, 25 directory contacts, 30 days of details, 250 unique customers, then $0.50 per customer.
  • Scale, $249 a month ($208 on the annual view). 25 logic flows, 500 directory contacts, 500 unique customers. The Scale card, as read on October 4, 2026, did not print the $0.50 overage line that Starter and Growth print. This page does not assume it.
  • Enterprise. Custom. The card lists custom minutes and tokens, a dedicated account manager, custom API integrations, and an SLA.

Starter at $79 a month is a lower published monthly price than First Deploy’s $250 desk. It does not include First Deploy’s $1,750 setup, and the allowance is 100 unique customers, not “every caller, with no meter.” A shop whose nights are the same handful of repeat customers stays inside that allowance more easily than a shop that gets a new caller on every storm.

Setup

Goodcall’s June 26 page says you do not need an engineering background and that setup takes minutes, not weeks. You build the skills and the flows. First Deploy’s setup is the opposite shape: you name one leak, we write the plan, and that leak goes live this week. The $1,750 is that work. After go-live the desk is $250 a month, invoiced separately, for the company rather than per agent.

When Goodcall is the better choice

Goodcall is the better choice if you want to build the agent yourself, keep unlimited minutes, and pay the per-agent price they print, starting at $79 a month ($66 on the annual view). A long call does not add a minute charge. Several locations can be several agents, with directory contacts who take transfers. Keep your current number by forwarding only the calls you miss. Their June 26 page also says there is a 14-day trial and no long-term contract. The pricing FAQ that was read shows monthly and annual prices and does not restate the trial.

First Deploy fits the owner who does not want to assemble logic flows. The scope is one after-hours leak for a trade shop, then $250 a month after the $1,750 setup.
